Welcome!

What should I do with my life?

For most people, the answer goes something like, “I don’t know”, “I still don’t know”, or “I know it’s not what I am doing right now!”

Given the amount of time we spend working, failure to find meaningful, significant work is not just a minor misstep in living out God’s plan; it is a deeper kind of failure that can make each day feel like living death. Dan Miller

Your life is not defined by the work you do. However, work that is a reflection of what you want your life to be about is a key element in experiencing fulfillment and meaning. So, are you frustrated with your work? Do you wish you had a different job, a different line of work, a different career path? If so, you are not alone. Finding work that gives you a sense of meaning and purpose can often feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. You are not sure where to begin, what to do, or how to go about doing it. You just know you need to find that needle – work you are passionate about and fits the life you desire to live.

So is it possible to find such work? YES, IT IS! As with most good things in life, it doesn’t come without hard work, patience, and courage. But take heart and know you are not stuck where you are at.

If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” – Henry David Thoreau

Get Some Help

Deciding on a career choice, whether for the first time or to make a career change, is a big deal. We spend more than half our waking hours at work, and it takes more than simply choosing a degree program in college to find work you can enjoy and be passionate about. I was a confused and lost college student, trying to decide on a major which I thought would lead me into a satisfying career. I switched majors three times, graduated a year later than most of my peers, and ended up working jobs that I could not stand.

In my quest to find work I could enjoy and be passionate about, I considered lots of things – becoming a fireman, FBI agent, personal trainer, teacher, academic advisor, and on and on. These were all things I was interested in, but after more serious thought realized I didn’t really want to do them. So what did I really want to do? I read lots of articles, books, and blogs, hoping the answer would just be there in the words and pages, waiting for me to see it. I wanted someone, or something, to tell me what to do with my life. As helpful as some of these resources were, the answer did not magically appear before my eyes.

So I took another step and sought the help of a career coach. Through a simple yet profound process, done in the context of live conversation and a trusting relationship, I was able to discover what excited me, what made me “tick” – the answer to what I wanted to do with my life. Put another way, my calling. That calling is to help you do the same – discover your dreams and passions, understand your calling, and then take action to live these out and bear fruit in your life and the lives of those around you.

It is my desire to help you discover your calling and experience a more fulfilling life and career. I invite you to take a step in your quest for finding meaningful and passionate work. Complete the contact form for a free 30 minute initial consultation.
